Leaving the stalls, Op It (IRE), placed second, jumped slightly right-handed at the same time as the winner, Ermin Street (IRE), jumped slightly left-handed, resulting in Anger Management (GB), unplaced, being tightened for room before clipping the heels of Ermin Street (IRE) and stumbling, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Op It (IRE) or Ermin Street (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Ermin Street (IRE), ridden by Tyler Saunders and Rollajam (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by P J McDonald.
Saunders was suspended for 3 days for careless riding after allowing his mount to drift left-handed without correction for some distance when not fully clear of Rollajam (IRE) which was hampered and resulted in McDonald being unable to the ride the gelding out fully to the finish line, thereby potentially losing third place.
Tyler Saunders, the rider of the winner, Ermin Street (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from 2 furlongs out.
Following the race, Jack Mitchell reported that Kaasirr (IRE), unplaced, hung badly right-handed and P.
J.
McDonald reported that Rollajam (IRE), placed fourth, was denied a clear run inside the final half furlong.
