Permission was given for Captain Kane (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider why Captain Kane (GB), trained by George Scott, had failed to enter the Parade Ring.
The Stewards noted the explanation given by Scott's representative that she had been delayed receiving the saddle from Ben Curtis, who had ridden the previous winner and Captain Kane (GB) had then also proved difficult to saddle, despite having two members of staff present.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend involving Whitcliffe (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Joe Fanning, Amzaan (IRE), placed second, ridden by Callum Shepherd, Mutara (GB), placed fourth, ridden by James Doyle and Birkie Girl (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Callum Hutchinson.
The interference was found to be accidental as initially Birkie Girl (GB) had lugged left-handed despite its rider's best efforts to correct the filly causing Mutara (GB) to be crowded for room and Amzaan (IRE) to be briefly tightened up on the rail, before a short distance later Whitcliffe (IRE) had edged slightly left-handed when going forward of the runners leaving Hutchinson unable to further relieve the pressure to the runners on his inside, which resulted in Mutara (GB) having to be steadied and losing its position.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the winning line with a circuit to run involving Anger Management (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jack Mitchell and Hill Station (FR), unplaced, ridden by Tom Queally.
Joanna Mason the rider of WHO’S UR DANDY (IRE), unplaced, was also interviewed but found not to be involved.
Queally was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had edged his mount left-handed towards the rail when not sufficiently clear of Anger Management (GB), causing Mitchell to take a check.
Following the race, Laura Coughlan reported that Vaxholm (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference approaching the home bend with a circuit to run.
