Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Congress Place (IRE), unplaced, drifted left bumping Grandstand (IRE), unplaced, and then drifted right and made contact with Coastal Cyclone (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Amelia R (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Carlisle on 11 June 2019 where the filly finished eighth of fifteen, beaten 7¼ lengths.
Ray Craggs explained that Amelia R (IRE) appreciated the drop in trip to 6 furlongs from 7 furlongs.
The filly was routine tested.
Following the race, Mitch Godwin reported that Coastal Cyclone (GB), unplaced, was never travelling and Harry Dunlop’s representative reported that the gelding was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Good (Good to Soft in Places) on this occasion, and would prefer a quicker surface.
