M.A. Gallagher, rider of Waterboy trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost his action behind and also made a respiratory noise in running
R.P. Whelan, rider of Leabaland trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stumbled out of the starting stalls
The Stewards interviewed M.A. Enright, rider of Chagall, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that M.A. Enright was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended M.A. Enright for 1 raceday
The Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final one and a half furlongs involving Waterboy, ridden by M.A
Gallagher,unplaced and Scarlet Seymour, ridden by F.F. Da Silva,unplaced. Having reviewed the recording and considered the matter, the Stewards decided that no further action was warranted
The Stewards requested a report from Edward Lynam, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Chagall, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Cork on the 9th September when finishing tenth of fourteen runners
Edward Lynam reported that the removal of blinkers and the step up in trip were contributing factors to the improved run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report
