Monzoon a fourth winner of the week for O’Sullivan
He had two lovely runs in maidens this year at the Curragh and Gowran but then ran on soft ground in handicaps at Cork and Punchestown,. He’s really a good ground horse and one for the all-weather. We did fancy him today and Mark gave him a great ride. I would love to keep him as he’s progressive and still only a three-year-old. I think he’ll be better with a bit of time. The key to him is the ground and I think he’ll stay a little bit further.
Kinirons fast into stride and Helen another winner for Newbridge trainer
She had a real good run in a handicap (in March) and then didn’t run again between the Covid and she grew again. She’s a filly only coming into herself,. Bill was delighted with her and she handled the surface. She’s going to be a fun mare and she’ll stay a bit further as well. Her work was always good and we thought she was good enough to win a maiden last year but through immaturity and a few things it didn’t happen. She also got loose here one night and it knocked her confidence a bit. I think she’ll be a nice filly on grass as well. We might try her on good ground and then come here for the winter.
Chagall is back in the winners enclosure for Lynam/Enright
He ran poor the last day and we just took the headgear back off him and put on a sheepskin noseband. We tried him up at a mile which was new to him as we thought he might get things his own way. He didn’t initially but did eventually. He was brave and battled well. His form is a bit in and out. We’re getting the hang of him and Mark is getting a good spin out of him.
Awtaad's brother comes good at 13th attempt
Zaffy's Pride shows her prowess at Dundalk again to win maiden
She’d won a barrier up here and was unlucky here on her official racecourse debut. Then for whatever reason she didn’t seem to act at Navan, she didn’t come down the hill,. I loved the way she hit the line as I thought she was in trouble half way up the straight. Shane said she could come back here for the Listed Star Appeal Stakes in a few weeks.
Ewing's claim down to seven after third winner
She’s a filly that loves it around here. She doesn’t show us an awful lot at home. She’s a relaxed character but lightens up on that nice surface,.
Order Of Australia puts deserved win on the board
272/1 cross card double for McConnell
I’ve been getting the trip wrong with her. She’s out of a Galileo mare and the Galileo is coming out. She wants a trip even though she is a little filly,. She got a very good ride from Siobhan. I don’t think it was her fault that she spooked in front. It was probably the first time that she hit the front.
