The Stewards enquired into an incident about 100 yards from the finish involving Spanish Tenor, ridden by O.J
Orr, placed third, St Brelades Bay, ridden by T.P. Madden, placed second and Arcanears, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed fourth, where it appeared that Spanish Tenor was tightened for room when racing close to the rails
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M. Halford, trainer of Arcanears, accompanied B.M. Coen at this enquiry. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by T.P. Madden riding carelessly and therefore was in breach of Rule 214. Having taken his good previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended T.P. Madden for 1 raceday
W.M. Lordan, rider of Captain Power trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not get a clear run.
