The Stewards interviewed Mr J. Kelly Smith, rider of Fairy Tree, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, the rider accepted that he was in breach of the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr J. Kelly Smith was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr J. Kelly Smith for two racedays. Mr Michael O'Driscoll, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry

Rules or Rules of Racing, other than one I.N.H. flat race or National Hunt flat race Weights - 4-y-o 11st 5-y-o and up 11st 4lbs Penalties - Penalty - Winner of an I.N.H. flat race or a National Hunt Flat race 7lb extra Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 11th July) may also ride in this race. (The winning owner in this race will receive a €5000 bonus should the winning filly be eligible for the Weatherbys Ireland/I.T.B.A. N.H.
