An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference over the final furlong involving the winner, Makambe (IRE), ridden by Joey Haynes and Love Your Work (IRE), placed second, ridden by Dougie Costello.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Makambe (IRE)’s placing as Love Your Work (IRE) appeared to lose no momentum and always appeared to be held by Makambe (IRE) inside the final half furlong, with the winning distance being a neck.
Haynes was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his horse to drift left without sufficient correction, intimidating Love Your Work (IRE) off its intended line.
