Permission was given for Captain Sedgwick (IRE) to go early to the start.
Upon leaving the stalls Beau Geste (IRE), placed fourth, shifted right-handed inconveniencing Lake Sand (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Beau Geste (IRE).
Inside the final furlong Bonnie Lad (GB), unplaced, shifted quickly right-handed away from the whip slightly crowding Mayson Mount (GB), unplaced, for racing room but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately ½ a furlong after the start involving Lake Sand (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Harry Davies; Win Win Power (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Eoin Walsh and Beau Geste (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Louis Steward.
Steward was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had angled his mount right-handed towards the stands rail when insufficiently clear of a free running Lake Sand (IRE), which was carried off its intended line and in turn briefly hampered Win Win Power (IRE), before Steward continued on that trajectory to the stands rail, when still not clear of Lake Sand (IRE), causing Davies to be further hampered for some distance when carried off his intended line.
Following the race, Harry Davies reported that Lake Sand (IRE), unplaced, ran too freely and hung left- handed.
Thomas Greatrex reported that Tenth Century (GB), unplaced, was never travelling; Michael Blake reported the gelding was unsuited by the Good (Good to Soft in places) going and would prefer a quicker surface.
Harry Russell reported that Maylah (IRE), placed sixth, became unbalanced coming down the hill.
Eoin Walsh reported that Win Win Power (IRE), unplaced, stumbled approaching 2 furlongs out; Frank Bishop reported that the gelding was unsuited by the the undulating track; the Veterinary Officer further reported that Win Win Power (IRE) was found to be lame left fore.
