Limerick Racecourse, built in 2001, is located a few miles south of Limerick City and races all year round, hosting both Flat and National Hunt. Its Christmas meeting is the highlight of the calendar which hosts four days of quality action - the Grade 2 Greenmount Park Novice Chase is the feature race of the meeting.
Limerick is a right-handed circuit of 1 mile 3 furlongs round, undulating in nature, with an incline on the far side of the track and a wide sweeping turn into straight. The run in of 2 1/2 furlongs is a slight uphill.
The jumps track features 8 fences and 2 ditches, with 5 fences in quick succession in the back straight. The jumps course is a fair, galloping track and the uphill in the back straight really testing stamina..
