it’s great to get that job done and I was expected a good run. I was disappointed he did that (mistake) at the third last but it was his first day at school. Since he came here today he was gawking everywhere and was on his toes for some reason. He settled well in the race which was great but was having a good look at everything and I’d say he would have learned a lot. I’m very happy with him. There is a novice in Cheltenham at the November meeting or the Royal Bond but his jumping will have to sharpen up. we pencilled in this mares' race after she won her maiden because she wants soft ground and we thought there would be a good chance of getting it here. It is very soft out there and it's taking a lot of getting so we said we'd keep five or six wide for the better ground. She's very simple to ride, I just told Michael (O'Sullivan) to take his time because only two horses got home in the two-mile race, before this one. When it gets testing here, they walk. she's a mare that loves jumping - we ran her in three bumpers and she kept getting worse with every run. She's totally different with an obstacle in front of her. I'd say that'll be it for the season and she's a nice prospect for those mares' hurdle races on soft ground next autumn/winter. I'm delighted to start the season with her like that. She had been a small bit frustrating last season and while she had a couple of nice runs, she never got there,. She had been a little immature mentally but the cheekpieces helped. She had a good run here last winter on heavy ground so had no worries about the ground although it was her first run of the season. We'll see what the handicapper does - last year he had her mark but if she gets a fair penalty, she might hopefully win again.
