R.M. Power, rider of Wingin A Prayer trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was not moving right and was pulled up
P. Townend, rider of Recite A Prayer trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout this race and also made a respiratory noise in running
The Stewards interviewed C.D. Timmons, rider of Nobody Home, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence C.D. Timmons stated that his mount was off the bridle and kept responding but accepted that he had breached the whip regulations. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that C.D. Timmons was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended C.D. Timmons for three racedays.
