he (Conor Orr) said he learned a lot from the last day in Fairyhouse. I was very happy with him at home even though it was a quick turnaround. He was fresh so we said we had to give it a go. It is hard to find those rated novice chases and you are nearly pushed into it so we had to give it a go. It is very hard to go into those normal beginners' chases taking on those 140-rated horses. Conor said he was very quick over his fences. He is a horse that is always ridden patiently and he should improve. There are a couple of those rated novice chases coming up that will suit him into March. I'm delighted, that is four he is after winning and he has a good attitude. He was late to go chasing but he had been very consistent over hurdles so we were slow about going chasing. Ross O'Sullivan, trainer

A novice steeplechase for five years old and upwards that are EBF eligible which at entry are rated 114 or less (also open to horses which at entry are rated 115-125)
Weights - 5-y-o 10st 13lbs 6-y-o and up 11st 3lbs
Penalties - Performances in steeplechases before 20th January - for every 1lb above the rating of 114 1lb extra On or after 20th January - for each steeplechase race won 5lb extra
