I didn't really think about pulling up because I felt comfortable; he's a safe old jumper so I was happy enough to keep going. . Going up the hill I thought they had got away from me a bit and I just gave him a chance. He's a horse that doesn't like hitting the front too soon so it worked out ideal. Going to the third last I felt I had them covered. It was great - it was something new anyway! It's my first ride for Denis so it's very important to get a win.

H. Morgan, rider of Young Dev, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his right stirrup iron broke early on and he kicked out the other one
The Stewards interviewed Mr E. Mahon, rider of Se Mo Laoch, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his horse was a laid back type, was always responding but admitted that he exceeded the guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and having taken his record into account cautioned the rider on this occasion
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Envol Pierji (FR), trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards (123 = 11st 10lbs)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 10lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
