The Stewards enquired into possible interference from approaching the last hurdle to the finish line involving Calino D'airy (FR), ridden by D. Robinson, winner and Turbojet (GB), ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed second, where it appeared Turcbojet (GB) suffered some interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings and took no further action. Mr James Hunt, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms Colleen Murphy, regarding the failure of C.M. Collins, rider of Caerleon Kate (GB), dead heated for 6th place, to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion C.M. Collins was in breach of Rule 227 (i) in that he failed to weigh in after this race and they cautioned him accordingly. Furthermore, using their powers under Rule 231, they disqualified Caerleon Kate (GB) from dead heated 6th place and amended the result to read: Winner: Calino D'Airy Second: Tubojet (GB) Third: Black Ace Fourth:Robin Des Mana Fifth: Comber Mill (FR) Sixth:Racing Stripes. Mr James Hunt, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.
