An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final hurdle when Moon King (FR), placed second, ridden by Lilly Pinchin, interfered with the winner, Spike Jones (GB), ridden by Danny Burton.
Pinchin was cautioned for careless riding as she allowed her mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction carrying Spike Jones (GB) off its intended line.
Approaching the final hurdle, Lilly Pinchin, the rider of Moon King (FR), placed second, struck the winner, Spike Jones (GB), once across the head with her whip, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was considered to be accidental.
Following the race, Rose Dobbin reported that Firth Of Forth (IRE), which was pulled up, lost its action and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination revealed the gelding was stiff behind.
