The winner, Out The Hat (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 17 April 2021, where the gelding finished twelfth of thirteen, beaten by 9¼ lengths.
It was noted that Jedd O’Keefe could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form other than Out The Hat (GB) has been slow to come to hand this season, and has been working well at home recently.
Out The Hat (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of The Gloaming (IRE), which finished sixth of six runners, was considered.
Iain Jardine’s explanation that the filly was unsuited by the going on this occasion, which was officially described as Good to Firm, and would prefer a softer surface was noted.
