An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the bend approaching 3 furlongs out involving LIEUTENTANT CONDE, placed fourth, ridden by Charlie Bennett, Beehaar (GB), which fell, ridden by Robert Havlin, Um Shama (IRE), placed third, ridden Laura Coughlan and Gabrial The Giant (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Stevie Donohoe.
Being a 7lb claimer, Coughlan was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany her in the enquiry, but declined.
Havlin was unable to attend the enquiry due to being assessed by the medical team.
Bennett was suspended for 12 days for careless riding as he allowed Lieutenant Conde (GB) to edge left without correction when not sufficiently clear of Havlin, causing Beehaar (GB) to be shifted left onto the heels of Um Shama (IRE), resulting in BEEHARR clipping heels and falling, which in turn severely hampered Gabrial The Giant (IRE).
Following the race, Stevie Donohoe reported that Gabrial The Giant (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference rounding the bend the Veterinary Officer reported that Um Shama (IRE), placed third, lost its right hind shoe.
