Having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Five Star Getaway (IRE), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
It was noted that Christian Williams could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.

Following the race, Brendan Powell reported that he pulled up Duc Kauto (FR) as he felt the gelding moved poorly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination revealed Duc Kauto (FR) to be lame on its left-hind and Powell further reported that prior to pulling up the saddle had slipped on the gelding.
Sean Houlihan reported that Bredon Hill Leo (GB), placed fifth, made a mistake at the fourth-last fence.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Baignard (FR), which started second favourite and finished second, was struck into on its right-fore and Glorious Boru (IRE), placed eighth, had bled from the nose.
