Permission was given for both Deguello (IRE) and Monte Forte (GB) to go early to post.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of interference in the home straight involving the winner, Look Back Smiling (IRE), ridden by Hollie Doyle, Zaman Jemil (IRE), placed second, ridden by Daniel Tudhope and Mint Edition (GB), unplaced, ridden by P J McDonald.
After hearing evidence from all three riders and viewing recordings of the incidents concerned, it was established that in the first incident approaching the final furlong Look Back Smiling (IRE), shifted right- handed intimidating Mint Edition (GB) off its intended line, which in turn moved Zaman Jemil (IRE) slightly wider on the course.
In the second incident inside the final ½ furlong it was found that Look Back Smiling (IRE) hung persistently right-handed despite Doyle’s best efforts to straighten the gelding and lightly bumped with Zaman Jemil (IRE) on two occasions.
Taking into account the official margin of a head between Look Back Smiling (IRE) and ZAMAN JAMIL (IRE) at the finish, along with considering the material extent of the interference suffered by ZAMAN JAMIL (IRE), the Stewards were unable to be satisfied that had the interference not occurred ZAMAN JAMIL (IRE) would have finished in front of Look Back Smiling (IRE) and accordingly ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
In the first incident, Doyle was cautioned for careless riding as she had taken insufficient steps to prevent her horse from lugging right-handed thereby causing minor interference to the two runners on her outside.
In the second incident, the interference was found to be accidental as Doyle had taken reasonable and timely steps to correct her mount from hanging right.
Inside the final furlong, the winner, Look Back Smiling (IRE) hung right-handed impeding a weakening Mint Edition (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Look Back Smiling (IRE).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Witchford (GB), unplaced, lost its right-fore shoe.
