Mr Jack Lander, the rider of the winner, Tele Red (GB), was suspended for 4 days, on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, for using his whip above the permitted level from approximately 1¾ furlongs out.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Amateur, Mr Lander was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Following the race, Mr Matthew Ennis reported that Headingley (IRE), placed sixth, had no more to give and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Mr Eireann Cagney reported that DANDY’S ANGEL (IRE), which started second-favourite and finished third, was denied a clear run approaching the home turn.
