Permission was given for Made In Brockley (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
The Starter reported that Diffuser (GB) refused to enter the stalls and was withdrawn at 1:41pm.
Michael and David Easterby were informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
Approximately ½ a furlong out, the winner, Makalu (IRE), hung right-handed carrying Joeyremy (IRE), placed second, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Makalu (IRE).
The winner, Makalu (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 3 June 2021, where the gelding finished twelfth of seventeen, beaten 6½ lengths.
It was noted that Kevin Ryan could offer no explanation for Makalu (IRE)’s improved form.
The gelding was routine tested.
The performance of Vieux Carre (GB), which started second favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
David O’Meara’s representative could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance.
Following the race, Mark Crehan reported that Made In Brockley (IRE), unplaced, ran green.
