Prior to racing, the Stewards requested an explanation from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to his intention to run his charge "Fury Road" today having withdrawn his charge from an engagement here yesterday with the excuse submitted "Change in going" when the going description on both days was similar. Gordon Elliot stated that he had examined the racing surface on each day here at Leopardstown and felt that the ground yesterday was faster than anticipated whereas with the combination of overnight rain and selective watering in his opinion it made for a greater ease in the ground while holding the same description. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards accepted Mr Elliot's explanation and allowed Fury Road to run

Owing to the low elevation of the sun, the Stewards granted permission for fence #1 to be omitted from this race Rachael Blackmore, rider of Mr Incredible trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount refused to race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ashdale Bob, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have cuts and was sore on his right hindleg

Samples were taken for analysis.
