The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Clew Bay, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final furlong involving No Trouble, ridden by J.A
Heffernan, placed second and Turf Range, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed first, where it appeared that both animals had drifted towards each other and contact was made. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence J.A. Heffernan stated that there was contact between the horses but he had received the interference which cost him a better placing. W.M. Lordan stated that he stopped his horse drifting right by changing his whip and in his opinion both horses got close but he felt that he was always holding the challenger. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action

An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 45-65 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 8st 6lbs Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
