Special Power gets his turn for the Slatterys
That's a relief I suppose. He had thrown away a few races, he did that well enough even though he was a bit slow away. He might run in the Birdcatcher on Sunday, it's maybe not the way to go about it as he's 2lb out of the handicap (before his 6lb penalty is factored in) but he might as well finish off for the season. He'll go on any ground and maybe holding him up and coming late in a better type of a race might suit him better. He was going well everywhere there until he hit the front and then he started idling again. In a better race we might drop him in, try and come late and grab a bit of money.
Mullins' juvenile provides Lee with another double
It was a good step forward and he obviously learned a bit in Naas, we did think a bit of him and were hoping for a better run first time. I'd say he likes the better surface here and the step up in trip, he will get a mile as well. He stuck it out well there as he was on his own for a long time. I'd be impressed enough. He was an Orby sale horse and has the pedigree as well. I'm not surprised, on the book, that he would win a little race like that. He's there for sale so we'll see what happens.
Drombeg Duke back to form under Ryan
He's a lovely tough honest horse and he did it well. Hopefully the handicapper won't crucify us again. I'd say we'll keep him going as he seems to like it up here. While he's fit and well we'll keep him tipping along. I'm delighted for the owners who made a long trip up, so it's great.
Accessory a sixth winner already for Jake Coen
Broad's Range prefers polytrack to Turf!
He won up here last year and then got injured. We brought him back, he loves Dundalk, and thought he might need the run so he'll improve a little bit for that. He'll crack away up here for the winter and he's owned by great people.
