The winner Pemberley (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Exeter on 5 November 2019 where the gelding finished ninth of fourteen runners, beaten by 22 lengths.
Emma Lavelle’s explanation that Pemberley (IRE) had stripped fitter for its first run of the season, and also appreciated the drop back in trip from two miles and seven furlongs was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line between, Speedy Cargo (IRE), placed third, ridden by Harry Bannister and Remember The Man (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Bryony Frost.
Bannister was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his horse to drift left handed towards the stands rail without timely correction, causing slight interference to Remember The Man (IRE).
Following the race, Marc Goldstein reported that Kenny George (GB), unplaced, ran flat, Sheena West further added that in her opinion, the race had come too soon following its run ten days previous; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
