G.M. Ryan, rider of Say Yes To Dreams, trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount rolled around in the closing stages
W.J. Lee, rider of Irish Ballet, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount went to edge right in the closing stages, changed legs and made contact with the horse on his outside
N.M. Crosse, rider of Dandy Khan, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had no luck in running
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Island Girl, trained by J.A.Stack, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was weak in the closing stages
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the last furlong involving Irish Ballet, ridden by W.J
Lee, placed third, Island Girl, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fifth, and Say Yes To Dreams, ridden by G.M
Ryan, placed second, where it appeared that Island Girl met with interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. A. Heffernan stated that his mount ran green and met with interference from his inside. G. M. Ryan stated that his mount rolled round in the closing stages, but did not contribute to the incident. W.J. Lee stated that his mount hit a ridge when edging out, changed legs and made contact with the runner on his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
