The sponsorship in relation to both The First Hurrah (FR), and Beryl The Peril (IRE), trained by Kevin Philippart de Foy, did not comply with the Sponsorship Code of Conduct.
Philippart de Foy was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that the correct sponsorship is carried.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving Split Elevens (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Luke Morris, and Outtake (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart.
Morris was cautioned for careless riding as he had switched his horse right-handed into a narrow gap giving a slight bump to Outtake (GB).
Approaching the ½ furlong marker, Split Elevens (GB), placed seventh, hung right-handed despite its rider's best efforts to keep the gelding straight hampering Outtake (GB), unplaced, which in turn briefly inconvenienced Divine Connection (GB), placed eighth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Split Elevens (GB).
Following the race, Luke Morris reported that Split Elevens (GB), placed seventh, hung right-handed, Rhys Clutterbuck reported that Excelinthejungle (IRE), unplaced, ran too free, and Hollie Doyle reported that TELL’EM NOWT, which started favourite and finished fourth, hung right-handed and ran too free.
