K.J. Leonard, rider of Shamar (FR) trained by R. K. Watson, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung all down the back straight. The Stewards interviewed A.M. Glynn, rider of Meadow Cross, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Meghan Donovan, representing Denis Gerard hogan, trainer and Master of the rider. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g), in that he had used his whip with the arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards cautioned him. The following Stewards acted at this meeting; Mr. L. McFerron (Chairman) Ms. Mary Cosgrave Mr. P. Moloney Mr. R. Macauley Mr. M.F.O'Donoghue.
