The winner, Dunnington Lad (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 4th June 2024, where the gelding finished last of twelve runners, beaten by 14 lengths.
Peter Winks’ explanation that Dunnington Lad (IRE) had benefitted from a return to turf, was noted.
Following the race, Alex Jary reported that Captain Corcoran (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
