The Veterinary Officer reported that a pre-race examination of the gelding deemed it fit to race.

An enquiry was held to consider interference in the final 2 furlongs when Sir Taaj (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Mr Andrew McBride, drifted left, firstly interfering with Wilhelm Vonvenster (FR), unplaced, ridden by Mr C Rabbitt, and then continued drifting left over a considerable distance, causing Buzz Lightyere (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Miss Alex Garven, to be taken off its intended line and checked.
Mr McBride was suspended for 6 days, on dates to be notified to him by the BHA, for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction over a considerable distance, causing interference to both Wilhelm Vonvenster (FR) and Buzz Lightyere (GB).
Inside the final ½ furlong, Bite Ya Legs (GB), placed fourth, hung left-handed causing DON’T JOKE, placed fifth, to be eased slightly, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Bite Ya Legs (GB).
Following the race, Miss Charlotte Mulhall reported that Chinese Spirit (IRE), unplaced, was reluctant to race then jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, losing many lengths.
Miss Chelsea Brooks reported that Lucy Rules (IRE), unplaced, missed the break.
Miss Philippa Atkinson reported that Bite Ya Legs (GB), placed fourth, hung left in the final furlong.
