J. Kearney, rider of Destined To Rock (GB) trained by Garry Caldwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was checked one and a half furlongs from the finish
The Stewards reviewed an incident in the home straight involving Eastern Racer, ridden by G.F. Carroll, and Destined To Rock (GB), ridden by J. Kearney where it appeared that Destined To Rock had to momentarily check
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Matilda With Me, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed first, and Dark Street, ridden by N.M. Crosse, placed second, where it appeared that contact was made. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, N.M. Crosse stated that Matilda With Me had come in onto his horse when bumping and in his opinion had cost his own mount a better placing. C.T
Keane stated that mount had hesitated when taking the lead and gone a bit to the left after receiving contact and lay on Dark Street without affecting the final placings. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
