C.D. Hayes, rider of Profit Refused, trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount recieved interference from two two horses in the home straight
N.M. Crosse, rider of Spicy Water, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left throughout
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Profit Refused, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third, Snellen, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed first, and Spicy Water, ridden by N.M. Crosse, placed fourth, where it appeared interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.D
Hayes stated that his mount was intimidated by the hanging Spicy Water and on passing her he was then hampered by the winner causing him to check. N.M. Crosse stated that his mount proved a difficult ride hanging left throughout. G.F. Carroll stated that he followed the leader throughout and on challenging her on his inside his mount began to hang left and follow Spicy Water left across the track despite his best efforts to correct her. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action. Mr. J
