The Stewards enquired into an incident leaving the back straight involving Temptationinmilan, ridden by Mr R.W
Barron, and Difficult Decision, ridden by Mr J.C. Barry where it appeared interference took place. Mr J.C. Barry stated that he lost ground at the previous fence and his ground was taken approaching the rail on the bend. Mr R.W. Barron stated that he jumped to the front and felt that there was not enough room for another horse on his inside approaching the rail on the bend. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found Mr R.W Barron, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden improperly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended him for eight race days

An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards (109 = 12st 4lbs) Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won. Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules Top weight after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st 4lbs and the minimum weight is 10st 7lbs
