Permission was given for Shesadabber (GB), Navy Drums (USA) and Lucky Beggar (IRE) to go early to post.
Approaching half a furlong out Reigning Profit (IRE), placed third, edged right, before being quickly corrected which carried Shesadabber (GB), placed fifth, slightly off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final half furlong involving Reigning Profit (IRE), placed third, ridden by Tom Eaves, and Shesadabber (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Phil Dennis.
Eaves was cautioned for careless riding in that he was slow to correct his mount from drifting right-handed which resulted in Shesadabber (GB) being carried briefly off its intended line.
Leaving the stalls Captain Corcoran (IRE), placed fourth, jumped right hampering Hot Scoop (GB), placed sixth, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Captain Corcoran (IRE).
The winner Lucky Beggar (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Beverley on the 12 July 2022 where the gelding finished eighth of twelve runners, beaten by 7¾ lengths.
David Griffiths' explained that the gelding had appreciated some give in the ground on this occasion and also benefitted from a 92 day break.
Lucky Beggar (IRE) was routine tested.
