An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference in this race.
In the first incident, involving Vino Rosso (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Josephine Gordon, Kwela (GB), placed second, ridden by Georgia Dobie, Devils Roc (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Rob Hornby, Avon Green (GB), unplaced, ridden by Joe Fanning, and Bequest (GB), placing third, ridden by Hollie Doyle.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Dobie was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry, but declined.
The Stewards considered that the interference was accidental as Devils Roc (GB), shifted quickly right-handed, taking Kwela (GB) off its intended line, at the same time as Bequest (GB) lugged sharply left-handed away from the whip, taking Avon Green (GB) off its intended line which caused Vino Rosso to be left short of room and significantly checked in between runners.
In the second incident, on the run to the line, there was interference involving Bequest (GB), placed third, ridden by Hollie Doyle, Kwela (GB), placed second, ridden by Georgia Dobie, and Devils Roc (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Rob Hornby.
The Stewards considered that this was also accidental, as Bequest (GB) lugged quickly left-handed making contact with Kwela (GB) which was significantly unbalanced and causing it to make brief contact with Devils Roc (GB).
Following the race, Frankie Dettori reported that Velvet Morn (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, suffered interference on the first bend and was denied a clear run in the home straight.
