The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Coupdebol (FR), compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 10 April 2023, where the gelding finished third of six, beaten 28½ lengths, was considered.
Tom George’s explanation that the gelding had benefited from a drop back in Class, from Class 4 to Class 5, was noted.
Coupdebol (FR) was routine tested.
Following the race, Toby Wynne reported that Begoodtoyourself (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
