An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner, Dream Machine (IRE), ridden by Tom Scudamore, interfered with Gunnery (FR), placed second, ridden by Nico de Boinville.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Dream Machine (IRE)'s placing as Dream Machine (IRE) had both come from behind and was always holding Gunnery (FR), who lost little momentum as a result of the interference, to win by ? length at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as, after hitting the front, Dream Machine (IRE) had lugged left-handed before being quickly corrected by Scudamore.
Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that Dounyapour (FR), which started second favourite and finished unplaced, jumped poorly throughout and the representative of Dr Richard Newland reported that the gelding had a breathing problem; Dounyapour (FR) was routine tested.
Stan Sheppard reported that Espinator (FR), unplaced, jumped poorly throughout.
