The winner Winklevi (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 1 November 2022 where the gelding finished ninth of thirteen, beaten by 17 lengths.
David Evan’s explanation that Winklevi (FR) had freshened up from a break and benefited from a first-time visor and an easy lead throughout the race was noted.
The performance of Reset Button (GB) which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
B F Brookhouse could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than a report from Saffie Osborne that Reset Button (GB) stopped quickly.
Reset Button (GB) was routine tested.
