Permission was given for Mutaraafeq (IRE) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries which was removed at the start, and for the gelding to be mounted on the track and go to post early.
Ivan Furtado was fined £140 as, having requested permission for Mutaraafeq (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start, he had then failed to send a representative to remove it.
2 furlongs out, Maltby Raider (FR), placed second, ducked sharply right for one hit onto the heels of the winner Mutaraafeq (IRE), causing the rider of Maltby Raider (FR) to have to take a check.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Mutaraafeq (IRE).
Following the race, Jason Watson reported that Maltby Raider (FR), placed second, hung both ways.
