On the run to the line the winner, Treasure Storm (IRE), shifted left-handed as the rider pulled his whip through, carrying Snafiya (IRE), placed second, slightly off its intended line.

After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Treasure Storm (IRE).

THE RACING TV PROFITS RETURNED TO RACING RESTRICTED NOVICE STAKES (CLASS 5) (for horses in Bands C and D) (GBB RACE) Permission was given for TEMPERED SOUL to wear a red hood to post and for MASO BASTIE to go early and wear a red hood to post.

The raceday privilege request in relation to MASO BASTIE, trained by James Fanshawe, was not submitted.

Fanshawe was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference just inside the final two furlongs involving the winner, MASO BASTIE, ridden by Daniel Muscutt; TEMPERED SOUL, placed second, ridden by William Buick and GOING TO THE MOON (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Charlie Bennett.

The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of MASO BASTIE as TEMPERED SOUL, who had lost little ground approximately two furlongs out, headed MASO BASTIE approximately half a furlong out, when the latter battled back to win by a comfortable head.

As such, the Stewards ordered the placings remain unaltered.

Muscutt was suspended for 2 days as he failed to take all reasonable steps to prevent his horse from drifting left-handed causing GOING TO THE MOON (IRE) to take a check and in doing so left TEMPERED SOUL briefly short of room.
