Permission was given for The Gay Blade (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaires.
The Starter reported that Mr Dominic Hislop, the rider of The Gay Blade (GB) had originally entered the wrong stall.
Being satisfied that the stalls handler had put the gelding into the incorrect stall, before being quickly corrected, no further action was taken.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Run This Way (GB) compared with its previous run on 30 April 2024 at Catterick, where the mare finished seventh of nine, beaten 9 ½ lengths, was considered.
Paul Midgley explained that the mare may have gained confidence having had two runs since a wind operation.
His explanation was noted and Run This Way (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Mr Eireann Cagney reported that Captain Dandy (IRE), placed third, jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
