An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving Bastogne (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Laura Coughlan, King Of The Dance (IRE), placed third, ridden by Charles Bishop, CAPOTE’S DREAM (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Sean Levey, and Al Motasim (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Billy Loughnane.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved King Of The Dance (IRE)’s placing as it was established that the gelding was influenced off its intended line and was not the sole instigator of the interference as a result Bastogne (IRE) shifting left- handed before being quickly corrected.
The interference was found to be accidental as Al Motasim (GB) shifted right-handed as Bastogne (IRE) shifted left-handed before they were both quickly corrected, influencing King Of The Dance (IRE) slightly off its intended line resulting in CAPOTE’S DREAM (IRE) becoming marginally tight for room between Al Motasim (GB) and King Of The Dance (IRE).
Following the race, Billy Loughnane reported that Al Motasim (GB), placed fourth, hung right-handed.
