The winner, Valentine Mist (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Bath on 7 August 2019 where the mare finished last of the nine runners, beaten by 42½ lengths.
James Grassick’s explanation that Valentine Mist (IRE) had benefitted from a more positive ride on this occasion was noted.
Valentine Mist (IRE) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1½ furlongs out when Khaan (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Martin Dwyer, interfered with Sussex Girl (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Franny Norton, which in turn interfered with Rocksette (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Toby Eley.
Dwyer was cautioned for careless riding as he had manoeuvred right-handed for a run, carrying Sussex Girl (GB) right-handed, which in turn gave a bump to Rocksette (GB).
Following the race, Toby Eley reported that Rocksette (GB), placed eighth, was slowly away and suffered interference approximately 1½ furlongs out and Elisha Whittington reported that Frantical (GB), placed second, was denied a clear run on the run to the line.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Khaan (GB), which started favourite and finished fourth, lost its right hind shoe.
