Permission was given for Sea Storm (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
Leaving the stalls, Viva Voce (IRE), placed sixth, jumped slightly left as Internationaltiger (GB), unplaced, jumped slightly right, leaving Top Attraction (GB) short of room, causing the gelding to stumble and unseat its rider, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Viva Voce (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference involving Sparkle In His Eye (GB), unplaced, ridden by Billy Garritty; Internationaltiger (GB), unplaced, ridden by Ray Dawson and Viva Voce (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Connor Beasley.
In the first incident approaching 2 furlongs out, Garritty was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed Sparkle In His Eye (GB) to drift right, causing Dawson to take a check on Internationaltiger (GB).
In the second incident approaching the final furlong, Garritty was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had taken insufficient steps to prevent Sparkle In His Eye (GB) from drifting right, causing Beasley to check Viva Voce (IRE) for several strides on the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching 1½ furlongs out when Sea Storm (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Oisin Murphy, caused interference to Stand Free (GB), unplaced, ridden by Nicky Mackay.
Murphy was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had shifted right when insufficiently clear of Stand Free (GB), causing Mackay to take back.
Following the race, Ray Dawson reported that Internationaltiger (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination revealed the gelding to be slightly lame on its right hind.
Cam Hardie reported that Van Dijk (GB), unplaced, was reluctant to race, losing several lengths at the start.
