Prior to this race, Roger Fell was asked to explain the reason why he was running Zylan (IRE) here at Musselburgh on going described as Soft, having reported that Zylan (IRE) was unsuited by the Soft ground and would prefer a faster surface following its run at Catterick on 10 May 2021.
The trainer’s explanation that he declared the gelding to run here on Good to Soft ground and having travelled to the racecourse he was happy to let Zylan (IRE) take its chance, was noted.
Following the race, Shannon Watts reported that Reely Bonnie (GB), placed fifth, was denied a clear run inside the final 2 furlongs.
