The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning in to the home straight involving Akeela (GB), ridden by A.C. Persse, unplaced, and Draiocht, ridden by W.M. Lordan, unplaced, where it appeared an incident may have occured. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.M. Lordan stated that as the field turned in a few horses ran very wide and as they returned to the racing line he received a bump from his outside. A.C. Persse stated that he was carried wide into the straight and that he was returning onto the racing line and made contact with Draiocht
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found A.C. Persse, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 47-65 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
