Leaving the stalls, Mutabaahy (IRE), drawn 2, jumped awkwardly and shifted right-handed at the same time as Gustav Graves (GB), drawn 3, jumped slightly left-handed resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced after bumping, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately ½ a furlong after the start, the free running Gustav Graves (GB), placed fifth, edged slightly left-handed badly hampering Mutabaahy (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of Gustav Graves (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 4 furlongs out involving Nordic Glory (IRE), placed second, ridden by William Carson and Stay Smart (GB), placed third, ridden by Billy Loughnane.
Carson was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift slightly left- handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of a free-running Stay Smart (GB), briefly crowding that runner for room.
Following the race, William Cox reported that Close Of Play (GB), unplaced, anticipated the start and was slowly away and Cam Hardie reported that Mutabaahy (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference shortly after the start.
