Permission was given for Delahoussaye (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for GRANSTAND (IRE) to go early to post.
The raceday privilege request in relation to GRANSTAND (IRE), trained by Richard Price, was late being submitted.
Price was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
Approximately ½ furlong out, Delahoussaye (IRE), placed second, hung and shifted left despite the riders best effort causing GRANSTAND (IRE), placed fifth, to become momentarily short for room but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Delahoussaye (IRE).
The winner Habanero Star (GB)T appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Yarmouth on 26 May 2022 where the mare finished seventh of ten, beaten 11 lengths.
Gay Kelleway’s explanation that Habanero Star (GB)T appreciated being ridden with more cover on this occasion.
Her explanation was noted and the mare was routine tested.
Following the race, Pat Cosgrove reported that Delahoussaye (IRE), placed second, hung left handed throughout; Darragh Keenan reported that RIVA ROB ROY, placed fourth, ran too free in the early stages and Luke Morris reported that Amalfi Salsa (IRE), placed sixth, hung right handed.
