Rounding the bend into the straight, a very free running Baileys Polka Dot (FR), unplaced, switched left-handed when out of control and carried Professor Tickle (GB), unplaced, wide off the bend, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, The Real Mckay (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 20 July 2024, where the filly finished twelfth of fourteen runners, beaten 10¼ lengths.
The explanation given by Ivan Furtado’s representative, that the filly benefitted from a drop in trip and the application of the first-time tongue tie, was noted.
The Real Mckay (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Ryan Kavanagh reported that Baileys Polka Dot (FR), unplaced, ran too free.
